ORR Fire Protection have worked on the majority of major projects in Scotland with all the leading principle contractors from the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh to Union Square in Aberdeen.
The application of intumescent paint is one of our specialities. Our extensive knowledge of paint systems allow us to advise on the best products to use to suit the project and time of year when the work is to be carried out. No point in going for the cheapest option which will just wash off once applied on site and end up costing you double and delaying following trades. We use leading estimating software which offers our clients the best cost solution.
Quality control with intumescent paint is the most important aspect, it is very easy to think because the steel has been painted white that it will achieve the required fire rating, this is a costly mistake often made by contractors especially when choosing the cheapest price from non-accredited installers.
As 3rd Party FIRAS Accredited contractors we have to monitor every job closely with strict QA procedures to ensure the job is done in the right conditions and to the correct paint thickness for the fire rating.
We work with the best manufacturers in this process involving them throughout the process with our site inspections of works carried out. We use Sherwin Williams, Nullifire and Jotun products.
We are also accredited to use the latest Nullifire SC902 system which allows rapid one coat application even at 2 hours and is resistant to water damage.
